CDC Frontier

Overview

CDC Frontier kabuli chickpea was developed from the cross FLIP 91-22C/ICC 14912 in 1993. FLIP 91-22C was developed by the International Center for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA) in Aleppa, Syria. ICC 14912 was developed by the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in Pantancheru, India. The F2 derived family breeding method was used in the development of CDC Frontier. Based on overall morphology CDC Frontier is most similar to Sanford but differs in the following ways: CDC Frontier: Days to Flower: 52, Days to Mature: 124, Plant Height: 51 cm, Seed weight: 402 g/1000 seeds Sanford: Days to Flower: 57, Days to Mature: 136, Plant Height: 39 cm, Seed weight: 539g/1000 seeds
